As a professional boxer, Oscar Valdez is currently undefeated, held the WBO champion status in the featherweight division, and is also the WBC super-featherweight champion. Currently, he holds an unbeaten record of 29 wins (23 KOs) and no losses.

On March 18, 2008, Oscar Valdez faced Yankiel Leon for the first Americas Qualifier Tournament in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. After four rounds of action, Yankiel Leon secured a PTS (points decision) win over the Mexican amateur boxer.

On August 12, 2008, he faced Mongolia’s Enkhbat Badar-Uugan during their 2008 Olympic Games Bantamweight (54 kg) boxing bout in Beijing. Baddar-Uugan defeated Valdez by PTS (points decision).

Robson Conceicao defeated Oscar Valdez in 2009

Valdez first faced Robson Conceicao in 2009 and lost via PTS (points decision). Twelve years later, both fighters are once again all set to fight again. This will be Oscar Valdez’s shot at redeeming his 2009 loss against the Brazillian fighter who is also undefeated with 16 professional wins.

In September 2009, the Mexican fighter faced Vasyl Lomachenko at Mediolanum Forum in Milan. After four rounds of action, Vasyl Lomachenko secured a PTS (points decision) win over the Mexican. Since his loss, there have been talks of a re-run of Lomachenko-Valdez in the pro-boxing setup.

In October 2011, he faced Joseph ‘JoJo’ Diaz at Heydar Aliyev Sport & Exhibition Complex, Baku. Joseph Diaz bagged a win by PTS (points decision) over his opponent.

Lazaro Alvarez (2011)

In October 2011, he fought Lazaro Alvarez who held a 53-17-0 amateur record at the time. Much like all of his previous amateur losses, Valdez lost this by PTS as well.

In August 2012, the Mexican fought John Joe Nevin who had a 69-18-0 amateur record. This was the last fight of his 5-year long amateur career and he fought at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre, Canning Town. Valdez once again lost this fight by PTS (points decision).
