The WBC super-featherweight title fight between Oscar Valdez and Miguel Berchelt ranked itself among the most thrilling boxing events of the year. The two Mexicans accrued massive applause for putting on one of the most intriguing shows in the sport. The 30-year-old dropped ‘Alacran’ in round 4 and round 9 of the fight. Then ultimately in the 10th round, Valdez landed a mighty left hook to floor the champion. Post this knockdown, Berchelt was motionless and left the ring on a stretcher. Subsequently, he was admitted to a nearby hospital for further scans and reports.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN rolled out a piece of positive news for Miguel Berchelt’s fans.

He tweeted, “Great news, Miguel Berchelt’s CT scan was clear tonight after the KO loss to Oscar Valdez. He will be released from the hospital later this evening.”
