Mike Tyson was one of the most dominating professional boxers of his time. The former heavyweight champion was not in the ring to fight. He was out for war. And did not hesitate to inflict considerable pain on his opponents. Fighting with such ferocity is what made Tyson ‘the baddest man on the planet’. When it comes to feeling pressured, one must agree that Tyson has dealt with tumultuous amounts of pressure throughout his professional career and life in general. But, when it comes to punching, Tyson revealed where the real pressure lies in the latest episode of his podcast.
In an episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the former champion was joined by Magician and performer Criss Angel, and the two discussed pressure and pain, giving a very different side to these two emotions.

What are pain and pressure according to Mike Tyson?
Angel shared his experiences with pain and put forward his thought that feeling pain is a human trait, and it makes a person feel more alive. He said, “Becoming one with pain is a feeling of being alive.” He further shared his experience of being hanged by fish hooks.
Angel said that hanging from fish hooks made him feel pain and think to himself. He said, “Oh my god, this is the most incredible pain I’ve ever felt.” He added, “Then I just let myself go, and I just become one with the pain.” The magician further talked about getting punched in the face. He talked about how getting punched in the face hurts less than the real anticipation of the same. He meant that anticipation of pain is always more than the reality when the pain is inflicted. He said, “You realize that the anticipation of getting punched in the face is a lot more.”

Mike Tyson showed his agreement with Angel and talked about pressure. He said, “That’s the same way with pressure.”Tyson drew the similarity between pain and pressure. He further added, “Pressure is not being okay, pressure is not being hit, pressure is the thought of being hit.”
