“People Thought It Was Staged”- Eddie Hearn Opens Up On Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury Plan

Brit heavyweight world champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have been teasing a unification bout between them for months. However, they are currently staged against their respective opponents in Deontay Wilder and Kubrat Pulev.

After a successful title victory against Wilder in February, Fury is expected to end the rivalry by materializing the trilogy bout this year. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua has also bounced back from his humiliating defeat against Andy Ruiz Jr. in the rematch in December. He is set to defend the title against Kubrat Pulev next.

While the Brit gladiators are expected to unify their titles nearly, promoter Eddie Hearn gave some interesting insight regarding their high-intense relationship.

Eddie Hearn opens up on Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury matchup

A few days back, Fury and Joshua were spotted coming across each other on the street. The World Champions exchanged intense eye contact. Anthony Joshua posted the picture via Instagram and wrote, “Sweet Caroline”.

Tyson Fury is spotted inside the car while Joshua was on the streets. No wonder, the heavyweight picture left the whole boxing community rumble with speculations.

They have often denounced each other on several public appearances. However, their latest encounter appeared to be a friendly one. While most of the fight fans assumed the incident to be staged for seeking fan- attention, Eddie Hearn ruled out the assumptions.

While interacting with Sky Sports boxing, Eddie Hearn claimed that Joshua vs Fury can very well go down by the next year. Hearn appeared confident about both the men notching their respective wins in their upcoming tests.

Although Fury and Joshua are lined up against two of the very elites, Hearn still belives them to retain the titles. Thus, a unification bout is seemingly on the way, as per Hearn.

Taking a note on Fury and Joshua’s latest interaction, the celebrity boxing promoter said,

“I think it was probably awkward to be honest because people thought it was staged, definitely it wasn’t. It is was like – ‘Make sure you beat Wilder. Make sure you beat Pulev, I will see you next year, you know.'”

“I think the two respect each other. I mean its gonna be a great build-up.”

“They are two very different characters as well and it’s the biggest fight in the world boxing, So I think both the  guys are fully on board and they just gotta go and get the job done in December.”

Fury vs Wilder 3 update

Amid massive speculations and probabilities, Fury vs Wilder 3 is expected to happen by the end of this year. Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkell recently confirmed to World Boxing News that The Bronze Bomber is fighting Fury. However, the exact date and venue of the event are yet to be deemed official.

Fury and Wilder have fought twice in-right to date. The first encounter ended in an epic controversial draw. However, Fury left no doubts in the rematch. He snatched the WBC title from Wilder vis seventh-round KO. Fury leads the scoreboard at this point with 1-0. The trilogy bout is expected to seal the deal finally.
