Think about it! Back in 2018, when Jake fought Deji, no one thought this YouTuber boxer would manage to enter the ring with someone like Tyron Woodley. But lo and behold, Jake didn’t just enter the ring with him; he defeated the former UFC champion. During the short span of his boxing career, ‘the Problem Child’ has defied all odds to get where he is today!

What’s more, his boxing prowess grew to levels that several experts and boxers in the domain had to acknowledge Jake’s unexpected skill. One prime example would be Joe Rogan, who recognized Jake’s skills and abilities. “Jake Paul can crack, a hundred percent, that knockout of Tyron Woodley is legit as f**k,” Joe said in one of his podcasts.

Nobody could solve the mystery that is Jake

While the YouTuber’s initial career opponents are not anything to be bragged about, the list of his real opponents began when he fought Ben Askren. Some would make the argument that Askren wasn’t a boxer or even a good puncher; Askren’s value lies in grappling. However, one can’t ignore the fact that Askren faced numerous combatants in the past and has trained with the upper echelon of fighters. Paul, on the other hand, had just defeated an ex-basketball player. If not anything else, Askren had the upper hand in that fight. Despite that fact, Paul sent Askren to the shadow realm with one well-placed punch.

If that wasn’t enough, Paul went on to take down Tyron Woodley. Woodley, without a doubt, was one of the most formidable fighters in the MMA scene. He was a UFC Welterweight Champion who successfully defended his title four times. However, that did not faze Jake Paul, as he knocked out Woodley in both fights. What’s more, Paul later went on to fight Nate Diaz, the ultimate brawler who defeated the likes of Conor McGregor. Yet, the results did not change; even Nate tasted the canvas once he came face to face with ‘the Problem Child.’

Some could argue that when Paul faced a ‘real boxer’ Tommy Fury – he could not produce a win. However, that fight was extremely close, evident from the split decision win in Fury’s favor. Further emphasizing that fact, Paul dropped Fury in the eighth round of their highly anticipated fight.

With a record of 7-1, a deeper analysis of Jake’s performance in the past reveals a pattern of taking on overwhelming adversaries and emerging victorious. Similarly, a closer look at August’s lone defeat unveils that the boxer who bested August is leagues away from Jake’s skill level. Eric Abraham is the boxer who defeated August in 2018. He holds a professional record of 7-16. Even considering August has improved since then, the chances of him losing the upcoming fight are high.
