November 6th, 2021, was a great night for Canelo Alvarez as he beat Caleb Plant in emphatic fashion to become boxing’s first ever undisputed super-middleweight world champion.

However, this wasn’t the best night for professional poker player and social media influencer, Dan Bilzerian, as someone allegedly stole his $1 million watch during the event at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas

Blizerian gets his watch stolen during Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant

In an interview with TMZ, Bilzerian claimed that someone stole his Richard Mille watch worth around a million dollars. The American poker star stated that he thought someone must have slipped the watch from his wrist while he was taking photos with his fans. He added that he didn’t notice the watch leave his hand because it was too light due to the carbon fiber build and did not have a clasp.

He further stated that he had informed the police, who were looking into the matter, and also offered a reward of $50,000 to the person who found it. Notably, the watch was not insured and there was no CCTV footage for the authorities to find the culprit. Hence, Bilzerian was hoping that the reward would motivate people to find the watch.

How did Dan Bilzerian make his millions?

The majority of Bilzerian’s wealth is attributed to his poker earnings. Bilzerian finished 180th in the 2009 World Series Poker Event and stated he won over $10 million in a single private poker game and over $50 million in a single year of playing high-profile poker games.

However, many professional poker players called out Bilzerian for his claims, stating that his alleged earnings were not greater than the other top players in the game. Moreover, many of his close associates have claimed that he has mediocre poker skills and that there was no way he earned his money from playing poker.

Most people also believe that his money comes from the trust fund left for him by his father, Paul Bilzerian, who was a Wall Street banker. Although there is no solid proof of the same.
