WBA (Regular) lightweight champion Gervonta Davis is all set to prove his mettle at his most anticipated fight yet. He will face lightweight phenom Ryan Garcia in the quest for lightweight glory. Meanwhile, Davis was long known as the protege of the crown prince of boxing, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Moreover, he also fought under the Mayweather Promotions banner, before leaving in 2022. A recently resurfaced video showed Davis training under Mayweather’s watchful eye. Though the video is quite old, it has managed to capture the attention of many.

Davis recently had his media workout in Las Vegas. He was seen showcasing his skillset with a shadowboxing routine. The media personnel on the other hand also seemed excited in anticipation of Garcia vs Davis. Interestingly, Davis was also called the ‘future of boxing’ during the session.

An excerpt from this session was further posted on AKHI TV’s YouTube channel. Additionally, the channel took it a step further and included a snippet of Mayweather training Davis. ‘Money’ Mayweather was seen instructing Davis and giving him suggestions, as ‘Tank’ engaged in a heavy bag session.

In the same vein, Garcia is also not leaving any stone unturned in preparation for this fight. It is worth noting that his trainer Joe Goossen even revealed that he was training seven days a week to make himself battle ready.

Fans were impressed with the clip of Floyd Mayweather and Gervonta Davis

The snippet of Mayweather training Davis quickly caught the eye of fans. In fact, a lot of them took to the comments to share their thoughts about the same. A user named Tony Ramsey quickly drew parallels between the duo. He mentioned, “Tank and Floyd has some of the prettiest bodywork in the game. Comparing him to Ryan is almost insane!”

Similarly, D Patton nodded in agreement and said, “If you watch Tank you can see he has been training with Floyd.” And, TremendissdaGodTV added, “He got boxing iQ of Roger, Floyd Senior, Floyd Jr, and Calvin. 4 Generations Ryan is in trouble. Mayweather training plus Tyson’s punching powers.”

MAC, on the other hand, reminded people that the training video was an old one. The user mentioned, “Everyone saying he runs to Floyd because he’s afraid of Ryan should look CLOSER! That’s an OLD CLIP of TBE and Tank. Unless he grew his braids overnight!!! So chill with that!” Lastly, a user named Mabandla Khungwayo wasted no time in saying, “Ryan is gonna be easy work for Tank”.
