On the latest episode of the Hotboxin’ podcast, Mike Tyson and Henry Cejudo chopped it up with former pro-wrestler and actor David Arquette. When talking about Arquette’s professional wrestling experiences, Tyson brought up Extreme Championship Wrestling. They talked about how ECW was infamous for taking things too far from time to time. Mike Tyson then talked about pro wrestler New Jack, who sadly passed away in May 2021 because of a heart attack.

Mike Tyson spoke about New Jack’s notoriety inside the ECW wrestling ring. The boxing legend highlighted New Jack’s most ill-reputed wrestling incident in 1996.

New Jack thrashed wrestling veteran Gypsy Joe – 2003

At an independent show in 2003, New Jack faced 69-year-old Gypsy Joe. The veteran wrestler initially blocked his offense. However, this did not sit well with his opponent. An enraged New Jack thrashed Gypsy Joe by throwing him into chairs and hitting him on the head with a baseball bat. The match was immediately stopped. However, New Jack’s notoriety against the 69-year-old is still widely discussed in the wrestling community.

Vic Grimes Scaffolding Match – 2002

In a 2002 XPW scaffolding match against Vic Grimes, New Jack pulled out a taser at the top of the scaffold. He used the taser on him and later pushed his immobile opponent off the scaffold down 40 feet. Vic Grimes crashed through a table that caused him to break his ankle. New Jack later revealed that he originally aimed to throw Vic Grimes off the ring and into the concrete floor.
