Deontay Wilder and his team have poured cold water on the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury bout. The next fights for the pair already seem to be in place. Especially Joshua, who is the unified heavyweight king, has a number of opponents with whom he can take on in his next outing. But his probabilities of facing Oleksandr Usyk next seem to be pretty high.

In a recent interview with DExpress Sport, Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, added that he’s had a word with Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, on booking Usyk vs Joshua next. He said, ”We have already exchanged texts this morning. It looks like we have a fight to make.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Anthony Joshua‘s fight with Tyson Fury was set for August 14 in Saudi Arabia. But ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had a strong urge to fight Fury in a trilogy. And for that, he took the matters legally, and the arbitrator ruled the decision in Wilder’s favor.

It is now reported that Fury and Wilder will anyhow have to confront each other in a trilogy by September 15, 2021.

That said, the future of the Joshua vs Fury fight is in sheer danger and the former is now left without an opponent. But Usyk’s team doesn’t wish to spare this chance, as they’re looking for every opportunity to book the Joshua fight next.

Earlier, Usyk was supposed to be Joshua’s mandatory challenger for the WBO heavyweight belt. But in between, Usyk and his team got tagged by Joe Joyce‘s promoters to book an eliminator fight. Here, it was reported that the winner of Usyk vs Joyce will face the winner of Joshua vs Fury.
