The Oscar-winning actor Will Smith slapped the renowned comedian Chris Rock months ago. But this infamous incident earned so much attention that if this subject comes to the table, it gains media attention all over again. Recently, the American DJ Jazzy Jeff made new claims regarding this context. As he knows Smith as a friend for 40 years, he is convinced that if it was heavyweight legend Mike Tyson in Rock’s place, Smith would have slapped him too.

In an episode of FAQ Podcast, the 57-year-old said, “The one thing I would say, cause I’ve had people say, Oh, he wouldn’t have done that to no gangsta.”
According to Jeff, Smith is the kind of person who runs toward the thing he is afraid of.
Talking about ‘The Baddest Man on Planet’, Jeff claimed, “Will would’ve slapped Mike Tyson. It did not matter who was there. Will would’ve got his ass beat, but he was going to do what he was going to do, regardless of who it was. It wasn’t for fake. It wasn’t for show. I have to protect. If that was a grizzly bear, he would have did it. I know him.”

What happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock?
During the Oscar Awards Ceremony, the host of the show Chris Rock poked a joke at Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett. He said, “Jada, I love you. ‘GI Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it”. Rock hinted at Pinkett’s shaved head, giving the reference to Demi Moore from the 1997 movie.

Unfortunately, it did not sit well with Pinkett’s husband, Will Smith. He walked onto the stage and slapped Rock in the face. Initially, everyone laughed as it appeared to be staged, but later things changed when Smith returned to his seat and shouted obscenely at Rock.
Subsequently, after the incident, Smith won the Oscar for the best actor. Though he apologized to Rock later, he faced a ban for 10 years by the film academy.
