Every bigwig contender in the heavyweight division is eager to get his hands on the world title. But for now, the title picture at heavyweight is in a total mess. Hence, the stout challengers will have to battle each other in order to make their chances viable for a title shot when things clear up. That said, a matchup between the ex-champ, Andy Ruiz Jr., and Charles Martin has come forward.

Both Ruiz Jr. and Martin are eager to get a shot at gold. But looking at the prevailing scenario, only one among the two can fight for the same. That being said, a fight between the hard-hitting heavyweights might take place in October 2021, which will eventually determine who will advance to a world title fight.

Also, per Michael Benson, Ruiz Jr.’s ex-coach, Manny Robles, might train Martin for this fight.

‘Destroyer’ returned to action recently against Chris Arreola. Everyone was keen to see the Mexican-American boxing star in this fight, as he had put in a tremendous amount of work for his return.

However, whatever fans witnessed was no less than a true shocker. Although Ruiz Jr. won this fight, he still struggled to land his best power punches on Arreola. His lack of power and stamina was certainly evident.

Now, once he takes up the ring space against Martin for his upcoming bout, he will look to show the world that he is completely back in the groove.
