Following a long-lasting bitter feud, Oscar De La Hoya now wants to end all his differences with Canelo Alvarez on a good note. The Golden Boy Promoter will reportedly attend Alvarez’s 168 lbs title unification clash against Caleb Plant on November 6 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. He will support Saul.

Alvarez, who will headline the night under the Matchroom Promotions, looks favorable to become the first-ever undisputed super middleweight champion in boxing history. If not for his dispute with De La Hoya, Canelo Alvarez could have appeared from the Golden Boy family.

However, things fell off after Alvarez filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN in 2020. He accused Oscar De La Hoya of underpaying him and split ways with the promoter. It became vile after both sides exchanged verbal heat on social media.

Meanwhile, De La Hoya also announced his in-return against Vitor Belfort, to resurrect himself for a professional scrap against Canelo Alvarez. He vowed to outclass the P4P king in the ring. Unfortunately, he contracted Covid-19 and pulled out from his scheduled bout against Belfort.

On full recovery, he has reflected certain changes in his opinion. Oscar De La Hoya now appears delighted with Alvarez once again and is in total support of the Mexican star, ahead of his career-defining fight against ‘Sweethands’ Caleb Plant.

He is arguably the biggest name in today’s boxing and the most marketable persona. Thus, Golden Boy Promotions benefitted a lot from the P4P king.

As they now appear to be lacking a prime face in their roster, De La Hoya can re-shift his focus on Canelo Alvarez. The WBC, WBO, and WBA super-middleweight champion is working with Eddie Hearn on a fight-to-fight basis.

It validates him to explore other promotions. So, De La Hoya is trying his best to bag Alvarez.
