“New date for Jake’s wake,” Mike Tyson wrote on social media after his upcoming bout was rescheduled earlier this year to November 15th due to a medical emergency he suffered during a cross-country flight. With just a week left in their fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the 58-year-old has issued another chilling warning.

Over the past few months, Paul and Tyson have exchanged barbs online, raising anticipation about their unique matchup. It will feature eight-two-minute rounds, with both parties wearing 14-ounce gloves—an unusual rule for a professional boxing match. Despite that, Tyson’s post today seems to be an instant hit among fans, as it overshadowed Paul’s response to it.

Tick-Tock on the Clock: Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Set for a Knockout Showdown

Turning to Instagram, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ started the countdown for the fight, writing, “7 days left until he gets slept,” noting “From Dallas, Texas. Live on Netflix globally.” It’s worth noting that Paul never shies away from giving sharp responses to Tyson’s threats online.

Take the ‘Jake’s Wake’ comment for instance—during their face-off in New York a couple of months ago, Jake Paul responded by promising to knock out Mike Tyson. “This is history; everyone is saying I’m going to get knocked out but what happens when I put this man to sleep?”

“He’s saying it’s going to be my funeral, he’s saying it’s going to be my wake, he’s going to kill Jake Paul… I respect Mike Tyson but we’re not friends anymore, I’m knocking this motherf***er out and we’ll see who’s dead,” Paul added.

Regardless, this isn’t the first time Mike Tyson has started a countdown either. Back in July, right after the fight got pushed from July 20th, Tyson wrote, “Countdown begins. 118 days. 16 weeks and 6 days. 17 weekends. 2,832 hours. 169,920 minutes. 10,195,200 seconds.”

“Clock Starts Now. #TysonPaul #TheClockIsTicking #JakesWake,” he added. While the countdown is slowly coming to an end, the boxing world is getting even more hyped for Tyson to deliver on his promise to put ‘The Problem Child’ to sleep.

Jake Paul delivers his witty comeback

One reason the 27-year-old has made it this far in the sport is his knack for creating drama. His sharp, witty comebacks are a major asset in the realm of trash talk. So, when Tyson shared the post vowing to put Jake Paul to sleep, the Problem Child quipped, “I like naps anyway, buddy.” Notably, despite the bold exchanges, Jake Paul has yet to be knocked out in his pro career.

Meanwhile, Bruce Carrington dropped in to promote his own fight. “I can’t wait to show out,” Carrington wrote. ‘Shu Shu’ is slated to face Dana Coolwell on the undercard of Paul vs. Tyson.

Another user revealed what he was hoping Tyson would do. “Tyson better knock this buffoon out in the first round,” the user commented. However, if Paul can manage to avoid Tyson’s aggression in the early rounds, some have said Paul may win the fight.

Someone else revealed why they would tune in for the fight. “Can’t wait to see Jake getting beat up like [a] drum,” the user wrote. But the sad reality is the opposite can also happen.

The next user treated the upcoming bout as if it was Paul’s funeral. Rest in peace, Paul.. see you again,” the user wrote. But what if Paul does the unthinkable?

That said, the responses on Tyson’s latest post indicate most people are hoping ‘Iron’ Mike to do his magic and put Jake Paul to sleep. However, only time will tell whether that will happen when the boxers enter the ring. What are you hoping would happen?
