Who will Canelo Alvarez fight next? This is a question every fan wants the answer to. And, with many potential opponents on the list for the Mexican, the question is just as tricky as any other. The reigning super-middleweight undisputed champion won his last bout against John Ryder via unanimous decision. And since then, many have been eager to know what is next for the 32-year-old. Considering all the failed negotiation attempts from David Benavidez, this is not a fight we will likely get to see anytime soon. And the fans are certainly not happy about it. 

Alvarez recently took to Instagram to post a picture with a message. But, the message did not sit well with the fans after the champion’s team reportedly ignored Benavidez’s fight offer. And, with the Dmitry Bivol rematch not on the table for the champion, the fans are not pleased with the situation. And are eager for him to fight or “retire.”

The ‘Cinnamon’ clarified that he is interested in a rematch with Dmitry Bivol to redeem himself for his first loss. But the Russian also clearly stated that he is not looking for a rematch. And is instead eyeing a bout with fellow Russian Arthur Bertebiev at the moment.

Amid all these failed negotiations, Alvarez took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with the caption, “Perseverance is, Never give up.” And as motivating as this message was supposed to be, it doesn’t seem like the fans interpreted it as a motivational message. And rather, a major chunk of them shared their thoughts on Alvarez’s next potential fights.

One user skipped the sweet talk and skipped right to the point which is that he wants Alvarez to retire from the sport. As he believes there is nothing more for Alvarez to do. He commented, “Retire now, there’s nothing more to do.”

Another user believes that Alvarez should only fight Benavidez or Charlo. He commented, “Fight Charlo or Benavidez! We don’t want anyone else!!!!” This fan’s emotion was echoed by another fan who commented, “We want Benavidez oh Charlo. No one else, period”

One user gave a new nickname to Alvarez. He wrote, ”KingNelo” Meanwhile, one user wrote, “Canelo do it for boxing and your followers, Bivol or Benavides, we’ve had enough of ribs.”
