Ricky Hatton Reacts to Son Campbell Hatton’s Debut Win

Former world champion, Ricky Hatton, saw his son Campbell Hatton live from the ringside as the youngster staged a successful debut against Jesus Ruiz. ‘Hitman’ appeared pleased with the performance and hailed Campbell Hatton for nailing a one-sided show.

However, he also saw some room for improvements and promised to bring them to his son. After the fight, Ricky Hatton connected with the fans in a media interaction and reacted to his son’s performance.

He said, “It’s a good start and he will earn from that and you can see a big improvement in him the next time. He has got a great win under his belt for the first time. Improvements are to be made.”

Ricky Hatton added, “So much stuff we can do.”

 

Ricky Hatton was one of the finest boxers of his time, and fans believe that the younger Hatton will have inherited many of those qualities. While he has already stepped up as a professional, the boxing world will expect him to live up to his decorated surname.

Coming off with so much spotlight on, Hatton didn’t let it overawe him. Instead, he displayed his prowess and earned a lot of respect.

Matchroom Director Eddie Hearn has already teased the next fight for ‘The Hurricane’. He revealed that he would book him on the undercard of Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker, which is scheduled on May 1.

Although Hatton doesn’t have an official opponent in the sight, he is looking to remain active. This will work wonders for his fledgling career. Meanwhile, his second fight is just a month and a few more days away, as per Hearn. So, Ricky Hatton and Campbell Hatton still have some work to do.

Hailing from the super featherweight division, Hatton will not run out of worthy contenders. The roster is full of hungry youngsters, climbing up the ladder to attain championship status. So, Campbell Hatton will have ample opportunities to continue his dominance.
