Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant slugged it out on Saturday night. Both fighters left the ring with a newfound respect for each other while Canelo Alvarez also walked out with another belt and etched his name in history. The fight almost went the distance as the electric crowd cheered on every single punch Canelo connected with.

A ringside video taken by a fan reveals the moment where Canelo and Plant start talking. The two fighters have a conversation mid-fight during the ninth round of the fight. Plant starts it off by saying, “This a good fight right here”. Canelo responds by saying, “I like it”. Plant continued, “I respect your skills”.

Which prompted a savage reply from the Mexican champion, “I know’, Canelo replied. Talk about confidence. However, Plant wanted him to know he was pretty good too, “I’m pretty good for 21-0”. For the entire duration of the conversation, the two fighters didn’t land a single punch. They just kept faking and moving.

After a while, the crowd started wondering why they weren’t fighting and so the boos started echoing around the arena. As soon as the two fighters heard the boos, they went back to work and exchanged a few punches. Canelo then put on a dominant late-round display to secure an 11th round KO win over Caleb Plant.

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez etched his name into the history books as he became the first-ever ‘undisputed’ super-middleweight champion. This is yet another milestone in his journey that began a little over 15 years ago in Mexico, when he turned professional at the age of 15, knocking grown men out.
