Having an indoor basketball court at his house, the basketball fanatic, Pacquiao, was delighted to be in Kobe’s presence and organically struck up a friendship. Reportedly, they also took photos with each other that day which Pacquiao shared to mourn Bryant’s passing on January 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Conversely, showing huge interest in Pacquiao’s ringcraft, Kobe changed from his usual low-cut shoes to high-cut, mimicking the eight-division champion’s choice of footwear in the boxing ring. Notably, both the athletes were signed to Nike back then. Safe to say, both Pacquiao and Bryant shared a long-standing curiosity about each other’s work.
