In a recent interview, boxing trainer Robert Garcia shared his views on the Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr fight on August 21. He said that he would bet on Errol Spence Jr to win, but added that it would not surprise him if Manny Pacquiao pulled it off. Robert Garcia called Manny Pacquiao a “warrior” for even taking this fight against arguably the best welterweight in the division.

He believes Pacquiao has a fair chance of winning this fight as he brings in enough experience and has great speed and power. Furthermore, Garcia added the ‘Pacman’s power could surprise Spence Jr, who, as the defending champion, is the favorite.

Garcia believes Spence is a “basic fighter” and that he does everything correctly. However, he does not look at the current welterweight champ as a “flashy” fighter who can pull off surprising moves.

“Errol’s very smart, man. He’s a basic fighter, you know, he does everything correct. Whatever we tried (in the Mikey Garcia fight) he was ready for. He’s not a flashy guy, he doesn’t look like some of those guys where you’re like ‘wow, did you see that?’ No. He’s a very basic guy but he does everything right. If it’s defensively, if it’s aggressively, whatever it is, he does everything correct,” said Robert Garcia.
