Rolando Romero Secures a Seventh-Round TKO Win to Defend His Interim Title

The WBA interim lightweight bout between Rolando Romero and Anthony Yigit certainly stayed true to the buzz created around it. Both the fighters went all guns blazing against each other and kept the fans entertained extensively. However, in the end, it was the young gun, Romero, who triumphed over his rival with his slick skills.

As the fight began, ‘Rolly’ began landing his fiery jabs to the face and body of Yigit. The latter, too, cut the distance and attacked Romero’s body with his right hands. As the fight proceeded, Yigit and Romero traded enormous punches and they landed their best shots in the initial rounds itself.

To everyone’s surprise, Yigit, who came out with a stern game-plan., landed some thrilling right hands in round 2. But ‘Rolly’ responded well and counterattacked with colossal right hands of his own.

As the tussle went ahead, both the fighters exchanged wild punches. Both of them showed their true class and continued with their assault as the fight proceeded.

The favorite, Romero, began landing his thunderous combinations as he got comfortable in the bout. He remained fairly successful with the same, and Yigit didn’t have an answer to that. The 25-year-old seemed comfortable in the later rounds and he revealed his best game plan too.

In round 5, ‘Rolly’ even dropped Yigit with his powerful punches. Post that, Romero turned the bout in his favor and he showed the veteran his classic skills. At last in round 7, Romero battered Yigit to secure an enigmatic T/KO win.

The young gun, right from the first bell, was the aggressive boxer. Walking in with intent for this high-class collision against a veteran, ‘Rolly’ certainly showed his skills.

He executed his game plans in the most decorated way and his offensive strategies helped him claim a win against Yigit. With that, he has 14 wins (12 T/KOs) under his wing.
