With Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte’s encounter getting confirmed, it’s almost clear that Anthony Joshua will now battle Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch. The two men squared off in a high-voltage scuffle at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium last year. Here, Usyk pulled off one of the biggest 2021 upsets by defeating the Briton.

Since then, ‘AJ’ is on the line, looking to revive himself in a second meeting with ‘The Cat’. Recently, all-time boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. came up with a stern opinion on how ‘AJ’ can tackle Usyk.

Speaking to Behind the Gloves, he said, “Be the same as before. You must bully a small man.”

‘Not rushing in, you just gotta bully. You got to know how you got a smart smart. You gotta tactfully pulling him.”

Joshua holds some noteworthy power in the bag, coupled with his perfect heavyweight frame. With these factors, he was a favorite to win over Usyk. But the Ukrainian boxer moved like a lightweight in his biggest frame. This left Joshua startled, and he wasn’t able to land one signature right hand.

Also, Usyk broke Joshua’s defense to connect some straight lefts and jabs. ‘The Cat’ shook Joshua with a couple of shots in mid rounds and the Briton almost got knocked out.

He still collected himself, and this fight went down the wire. In round 12 too, Usyk almost finished Joshua in the final seconds. ‘AJ’ survived his adversary’s wrath somehow, but he ended up losing that fight fair and square.

Joshua is yet to make an announcement about his team change and more. But, an elite in Reynoso interested in training him is a good sign, especially at this stage where he’s looking to revive himself against Usyk.

What do you make of Jones Jr.‘s comments? Do you think Joshua should name Reynoso as his head coach?
