A few years back, none of us would have thought of Roy Jones Jr. calling out UFC veteran Anderson Silva, for a fight. However, crossover matchups have become a common phenomenon in recent times, and several fantasy clashes can become reality.

Moreover, several veterans have also expressed their desire to return to action. It began with Mike Tyson’s exhibition battle with Roy Jones Jr. on November 28. While the return fight proved to be beneficial for ‘Captain Hook’, the 51-year-old became open to accepting more challenges ahead and seemed to have fixed his sights on former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva.

Jones Jr. posted a clip of himself on social media and called out the ‘Spider’. While he announced his upcoming music video with the post, it was also an attack on Silva.

In the caption, the boxing veteran wrote, “Y’all tell ‘Spider’ Anderson Silva to stop duck’n me and set it up- STOP PLAYIN.”

Although Silva hasn’t responded to the challenge, it still paves the way for Roy Jones Jr’s return to the ring. After a successful exhibition with Mike Tyson, ‘Captain Hook’ seems optimistic about his upcoming plans and if everything falls in place, we can actually expect to see him fight Anderson Silva in the future.

In the aftermath of his fight against Tyson, Jones Jr. clarified that he would sit with his family before making the final decision regarding his fighting future. But a few weeks later, he sparked a verbal feud with Glenn McCrory. The two even touted a fight against each other. However, the rumors faded away with time.
