Does age take away a warrior’s spirit, power, and mentality? The much-anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will have the answer to that question. Soon to turn 58, Mike Tyson will make his comeback to the square circle since his last bout against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Meanwhile, many have raised concerns about Tyson’s ability to fight and the vast age difference between the fighters.

However, Tyson’s last opponent doesn’t think that matters. Scheduled to face each other on July 20 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, as part of Netflix’s blockbuster entry into boxing, Tyson and Paul will have a 31-year age difference. So, in a recent interview with Boxing King Media, ‘Captain Hook’ tried his best to put all the fans at ease while warning Paul, claiming Tyson’s like a “Pitbull dog.”

Roy Jones Jr. claims exhibition or not, it’s going to be a brawl

Speaking to the former world champion, the reporter quickly probed him about the rules, questioning whether it would be dangerous for Tyson or Paul. Having experienced ‘Iron’ Mike’s ferocity in the ring firsthand, Jones Jr. claimed the 16-ounce gloves are not for Tyson’s safety.

Moreover, when probed about whether Tyson would be able to take a punch at 58-years-old, ‘Captain Hook’ said, “We [are] warriors. We don’t care about getting punched—[we] don’t care what age we are. This [is] what we do.” He even suggested that if Tyson can get in shape like he did during their fight, “He’s trouble; he’s a problem for anybody.”

Turning to the fight being an exhibition, Jones Jr. promptly issued a dire warning for Jake Paul. He said, “They can label [the fight] whatever they want to. Mike [doesn’t] know how to hold back. Mike’s like a Pitbull dog. Pitbull dogs don’t know how to play. It’s going to turn [into] a fight either way.” In the meantime, Jake Paul has expressed his thoughts on fighting Mike Tyson!

Jake Paul is expecting a “Wow moment” when opposite Mike Tyson

Over the years, Jake Paul has fought and defeated several legends from the combat world, especially the UFC. It has also gotten him a lot of hate from fans because these opponents weren’t exactly in their prime. However, it would be the first time Paul is fighting a legend from boxing, albeit a 58-year-old legend.

So, while appearing in his BS w/Jake Paul podcast on April 4, ‘The Problem Child’ expressed thoughts about the prospect of fighting Tyson. “I’m a little scared [because] it is Mike Tyson, and I feel like when I look across the ring, I’m just [going to] have a wow moment that I am actually about to fight Mike Tyson,” said Paul.

Despite a massive age difference, Roy Jones Jr. believes Mike Tyson would defeat Jake Paul with ease come fight night. However, whether his prediction holds ground can only be seen once both fighters enter the ring on July 20. Do you think Tyson’s still got it?
