In a raw and emotional Instagram post, Davis expressed the inner turmoil that he has been grappling with, writing, “I do this out of love, it’s just come off as anger.. if you felt any type of pain it’s supposed to turn you up!” He then went on to confirm that the March 1 bout was still on despite his earlier declaration about its cancelation: “#TheONE March 1st #LongLiveMyBigBro.” Right after a few hours, BOXING n BBQ reshared the post on their X with the caption, “Fight still on 3-1 RIP to Baby Frank. For those who may not know the history, Baby Frank was one of the closest people to Gervonta Davis. He used to train alongside Tank at Coach Calvin Ford’s gym in Baltimore. Though he often stayed in the background, his presence was always felt. A kind-hearted soul with a big smile, he was a person of great intelligence and deep character. Tragically, his life was cut short due to street violence in Baltimore. Despite his untimely passing a few years ago, his impact on Gervonta Davis’ life and everyone at the gym was profound. He was a constant source of support, always there when needed, and his influence on those around him will never be forgotten.

Baby Frank was a dear friend of Gervonta Davis and his death left a lasting emotional scar. Amidst the grief, Tank has continued to manage a spotless career. As the Baltimore native continues his journey, it remains to be seen whether the fight with Lamont Roach will really be his last or if will he go for a few more before saying goodbye once and for all.
