Ryan Garcia, Claressa Shields, & Boxing World Send Their Wishes to Adrien Broner for His Battle Against Mental Health

A boxer’s performance inside the ring is not just dictated by optimum physical prowess, but also by an equally strong mind. Adrien Broner was set to face Omar Figueroa for a sensational showdown on August 20, 2022. However, it was recently reported that the fight was canceled. Broner backed out of the fight so that he could focus on his mental well-being.

In an emotional discourse, Broner took to Instagram to announce that he will be backing out of the fight. Moreover, he mentioned that he is going through a lot in life and that he wishes to focus on his mental health.
Additionally, he also apologized to his fans for backing out of the fight. And, he also stated that he loves the sport too much to not give it his all.
He also added that he has to sort out his life before he decides to step inside the ring.
Boxing world extends their support to Adrien Broner
The boxing world was quick to show their support to Adrien Broner. In fact, Ryan Garcia and Claressa Shields took to Twitter to show their support.

Notably, Garcia had also taken a hiatus from the ring to focus on his mental health. He backed up Broner’s decision to take a break, stating that it is not easy to take time off. Moreover, Garcia also assured him that he will come back stronger and healthier.

Meanwhile, Shields mentioned that she was upset that she would not be able to see him perform. However, she added that she was glad that he was focusing on his mental health.
More support pours in for Broner
Garcia and Shields were not the only ones who showed their support. Many notable names also commented on Broner’s post while extending a sturdy arm of support.
Badou Jack showed his support to him by saying, “Stay strong champ.”
Similarly, boxer Idris Virgo also commented, “Stay strong bro.”

Two-time former welterweight champion, Andre Berto, mentioned that he was praying for Broner. He said, “Prayers up fa my boy.”
Meanwhile, UFC featherweight contender, Sean Woodson, backed the champ by saying, “Nothing but respect my brotha.”
In the same vein, 5x UFC welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley also said, “Behind you brother!”
