Haney’s rival, Ryan Garcia, couldn’t stop himself from tweeting. He wrote, “Good fight but The hunger to do something special was not there.”

Boxing bigwig Teddy Atlas wrote, “Diaz timed him there, but still too little too late. Haney unanimous.”

Boxing journalist Michael Benson wrote, “Devin Haney beats Jojo Diaz by unanimous decision to retain his WBC lightweight title. Best win of Haney’s career to date.”
