Terence Crawford took on Shawn Porter in Las Vegas. ‘Bud’ looked for a big fight against one of the elites in the division. The challenge came in the guise of an old friend, and the two went to war on November 2o at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This bout proved to be a huge fight in one of the most star-studded divisions in boxing.

Terence Crawford got the better of Shawn Porter as his father stopped the fight in the 10th round. Porter hit the canvas for the second time, and his corner had seen enough, prompting them to call off the action. An animated Porter paced around the ring as he looked frustrated with himself for hitting the canvas for the second time.

Shawn Porter put up a valiant effort against the WBO champ. However, ‘Bud’ proved to be too clinical for Porter to go up against. Crawford selected his shots carefully and timed them perfectly. Creating space for himself by avoiding Porter’s combos and then connecting with counters as Porter charged in.

Crawford’s game plan worked perfectly, as he got himself into a rhythm. Porter, on the other hand, could not find his rhythm as he tried to disrupt his opponent’s flow. A disappointed Porter left the arena with his father by his side. Even after losing, Porter smiled one last time as he gave his post-fight interview.

Terence Crawford reacts to Errol Spence Jr. attending his fight

Immediately after his win over Porter, Crawford began dancing with his family on stage, celebrating the victory. During his post-fight interview, Crawford learned that Errol Spence Jr. was in attendance to watch his fight. When he found out he said, “He was at my fight? Now that boy say he wasn’t gonna never, he gon never be at my fight. But now he at my fights.” 

“Well, you see what I did, compared to what he did.” They then showed the moment Spence left the arena after watching Porter hit the canvas. Crawford then looked to the audience and said, “Ay listen, my thing is, who number one in the Welterweight division now?” The crowd responded with cheers as they pointed towards him.
