Ryan Garcia’s eagerness to face his arch-rival Gervonta Davis has pushed him way out of his comfort zone and it is quite evident in the contract he signed. Despite giving it much thought, the former WBC interim lightweight champion agreed to all demands Tank brought to the table. First, he settled to fight at the catchweight of 136 lbs and later when the fight was about to be jeopardized as Davis’ team demanded a one-sided rematch clause, he even gave a green signal to that demand.

But now he realized that the decisions he made had tough consequences. In his last fight, he weighed 140 lbs which is junior welterweight. He took that decision when he failed to maintain weight in the lightweight division. It is hard for fighters to lose weight because as age increases the body becomes more mature and dense which eventually affects the body mass. But Garcia kept this reasoning aside when he signed this fight.

Now he has to fight at a lesser weight for which he has to lose a decent amount of body mass. In general, fighters consider weight-cutting a herculean task.

Garcia is undergoing the same process and he recently shared a story on Instagram. Posting a brief video clip, he wrote, “cutting weight sucks.”

The emotions on his face in the clip clearly show he doesn’t like it one bit.
