Ryan Garcia, Oscar De La Hoya, Claressa Shields, and Other Pros Congratulates Jermell Charlo as He Knocks Out Brian Castano to Become Undisputed Champion

The four-belt undisputed junior middleweight clash between Jermell Charlo and Brian Castano set the ring at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California on fire. Moreover, the rematch on May 14 was their second showdown after their bout in July 2021 ended in a draw.

Charlo put his WBA, WBC, and IBF championships on the line. Meanwhile, Castano risked his WBO title. The ‘Iron Man’ came into the bout with a stellar record of 34-1-1. He also had 18 impressive knockouts under his belt.

Meanwhile, Castano came with an impressive undefeated record of 17-0-2.

The close bout kept boxing fans at the edge of their seats.

However, the entire showdown turned around during the 10th round. Charlo, like a man possessed, delivered two consecutive knockdowns.

He was declared the winner by KO, making him the first undisputed champion in the junior middleweight division.

Similarly, undisputed female light middleweight champion Claressa Shields mentioned how Charlo showcased a spectacular performance focusing on his movement and jabs. She also congratulated him on his win.

One of the best active lightweights, Ryan Garcia was also impressed by the performance of both the fighters.

However, he missed the stellar finish. Nevertheless, he congratulated Charlo on his win.
