The WBC finally ordered the interim lightweight champ, Joseph Diaz, to defend his belt against the internet star, Ryan Garcia. For now, there’s no actual date for a fight between these two, but both the teams are expected to get in touch to stage this fight soon. Regardless of a potential fight date, Garcia and Diaz have already commenced their mental warfare with each other.

The duo recently painted shots at each other on Twitter and fans truly enjoyed their back and forth.

In this verbal tussle, one of ‘Jo Jo’s statements caught Garcia’s eye. Hence, he couldn’t stop himself from calling the former the ‘weakest’ boxer in the lightweight mix.

Responding to Diaz’s comments, Garcia wrote, ‘‘Why are you taking?? You literally are the weakest out of everyone”

The lightweight division is filled with undefeated contenders, and Ryan Garcia is one elite name on that list. Right from his first fight at this landscape, boxing purists have imagined him fighting for the ultimate lightweight throne. A few months back, he was also in contention for the same when he beat Luke Campbell to claim the WBC interim strap.

Now, following the WBC order, ‘King Ry’ hasn’t lost everything. He has a chance to re-insert himself into the title race. Also, beating the interim champ will help him solidify his position in the stacked lightweight roster.

Putting all of it together, ‘King Ry’ definitely has a chance to get past Diaz. However, it won’t be easy, as ‘Jo Jo’ will not just roll over for Garcia. Instead, he will do his best to be the first man to secure a win over ‘King Ry’ and advance to a unification fight against the WBC lightweight champ, Devin Haney.
