Despite the serious nature of the sport, an occasional goofball pops up every now and again. Recently, a self-proclaimed influencer boxer has called out Tyson Fury. Yes, the same Tyson Fury who put an end to Deontay Wilder’s dominance in the heavyweight division. While Fury is a world-renowned heavyweight champion, that did not stop the ‘P4P goat’ from challenging the ‘Gypsy King.’ Who is this challenger?

He is none other than the 331-0 record holder Charlie Zelenoff. He is the ultimate tough guy who is widely popular on YouTube for visiting random gyms to challenge boxers. According to BoxRec, Charlie has fought in one bout against Andrew Hartley, which he lost. However, according to Charlie, it’s not just his number of fights that are increasing but also his wins. Having said that, Tyson Fury is going to face off against Francis Ngannou on 28 October. But before that can happen, Charlie Zelenoff has challenged Fury to a fight.

A bold challenge to Tyson Fury

Frank Stea from The Mayweather Channel spoke to Charlie over the phone to find out who he wants to fight next. In response, Charlie Said, “I would fight Tyson Fury, a rematch with Deontay Wilder.” After claiming he wants to fight Fury next and a rematch against Wilder, Charlie claimed he doesn’t know who Jake Paul is. “I will fight them, but that Jake – Tommy whatever, I don’t know who that is, man,” Charlie told Stea.

Even though Charlie has made bold claims about fighting two great fighters, he is not new to such antics. In the past, he had made some comments about Wilder’s daughter, enraging Wilder. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ flew to LA just to confront Charlie and deliver a serious beating. What’s more, Charlie even signed a waiver, clearing chances of suing Wilder for damages, per a report from The Sun. What will be the consequences for Charlie this time around is yet to be seen.

The Enigma Charlie Zelenoff

It’s not clear exactly when Charlie Zelenoff became Charlie Z, but his official record shows he went pro in 2008. His first fight was against Andrew Hartley, a journeyman with a record of 2-28. Even against Hartley, Charlie kept running away and seemed out of depth, subsequently losing the fight. He even had an opportunity for a rematch with Hartley. But his self-sabotaging behavior did not let it happen as he punched Hartley before the fight began.
