The newly crowned super-featherweight champion, Oscar Valdez, is already at the center of call-outs. Fellow super-stars in the division, Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis, both addressed the Mexican’s knockout victory and gave their take on the new belt holder.
Valdez moved up in weight to take on Miguel Berchelt in an exciting fight. The former WBO featherweight champion made light work of his bout and viciously knocked out Berchelt to claim the WBC title.
Since then, things have escalated outside the ring for the new champion. Young challenger Shakur Stevenson, who many fans and experts rate highly, took to his Twitter to call him out. He admitted Valdez surprised him with his knockout. In addition, he claimed a fight between the two was the only bout to make.
