The tension between Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya is perplexing. The two have been at each other throats for several years now. But recently, the Golden Boy has gotten an upper hand on Hearn as The Matchroom is having a disastrous 2024. The promotion company has lost 14 main events this year and De La Hoya is enjoying this downfall.

Shakur Stevenson to end the curse

Saturday, November 16, was an unforgettable night for Oscar De La Hoya as all five of his boxers won at the Latino Night boxing event in Riyadh. Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez won via a unanimous decision to unify the cruiserweight belt. On the undercard, Oscar Collazo successfully defended his WBO minimum-weight title, Oscar Duarte won in the event opener, and William Zepeda defeated Tevin Farmer and got the right to challenge Stevenson.

Oscar De La Hoya saw this as an opportunity to gloat and also mocked his rival promoter Eddie Hearn during the process. He took to ‘X’ and wrote, “5-0 unlike others 😂😂😂,” stating how it was an unforgettable night for him, while also making sure that Hearn remembers that he has lost 14 main events this year.

However, Stevenson did not take this lightly as he replied and wrote, “Not in February 😂😂,” stating that his fight against Zepeda would be different. Zepeda joined Golden Boy Promotions back in 2021 and has been a prized fighter for the promotions. The undefeated knockout artist has been racking up the wins rapidly to secure a title opportunity.

Camaron did not hold back after winning against Farmer on Saturday and immediately called out Outlaw. Things got interesting when the WBC lightweight champion immediately acknowledged the challenge and confirmed the fight.

Stevenson immediately took to his ‘X’ and wrote, “Food!!,” stating that he would dominatingly defeat Zepeda. However, Outlaw also acknowledged the relentless pressure of Zepeda and accepted that the fight would be interesting. “Zepeda throws non stop punches I never fought a pressure fighter in the pros that doesn’t stop puncher, This gone be fun!” wrote Stevenson while accepting the challenge.

Zepeda once again showed his intense pressure and attack against Farmer. His fight against the WBC Lightweight Champion will definitely be interesting considering how strong Shakur Stevenson’s defense is.
