Super-feather challenger Shakur Stevenson has shared an encounter between him and compatriot Chris Colbert. The rising sensation spoke about the time when the two sparred in a hotel room. He even revealed what happened when they fought.

Stevenson is one of the top challengers in the 130 lbs. division. However, a world title still eludes the American. Despite this, he has called out Oscar Valdez for a title bout and has now responded to Colbert’s comments.

The 15-0 boxer spoke on ‘The Last Stand’ podcast and responded shared a story. 

He said, “We was in Missouri, at the ringside tournament. ‘B Hop’ [Colbert] came into the… he came into the weight room while I was checking my weight. And he just started talking mad sh*t to me like, ‘you suck, you not that good.’”

Stevenson then responded by calling him out to a spar. The American recalled they went back to the hotel and arranged an area to spar with just some gloves, without headgear. He then revealed how the sparring session went.

“But sh*t, we started sparring and when I say I f**ked ‘B hop’ up, I f**ked ‘B Hop’ as like. It’s just because he was talking so much sh*t,” said Stevenson.

Why did Shakur Stevenson lash out at Chris Colbert?

With his comments, ‘Fearless’ reminded Colbert of who the ‘A-Side’ is. However, why is the former Olympian lashing out at his countryman after all these years from their hotel sparring session?

Stevenson is famous for his trash-talk. Despite being a division below the lightweights, he constantly engages in verbal battles with them. However, a while back, on the same show, Colbert said he wanted to face Stevenson and that he would beat him.

Stevenson would never let this slide easily. As a result, the undefeated American had to make a point of his own about Colbert. Thus, he shared the story of when he beat him in a sparring session in a hotel room.
