Shannon Briggs’ opinion on the fight

Speaking about the fight, Briggs expressed his concern for Jones’ health. He said, “These are two men who fought all their lives since they were kids. So once they get to hitting each other, this ain’t gonna be no messing around”.

He added, “I think Roy’s going to be trying to use his Jab, Mike’s going to be doing what he’s got to do to get close to him and let those hands going. And hopefully, he can do what he got to do but not hurt Roy, and hopefully no one gets hurt but I hope they make a lot of money.”

So, it seems that Shannon Briggs favors Mike Tyson for this fight and hinted at the rules influencing the fight. However, he does say, “But somebody got to get hurt to be honest with you. So let’s just put the bullsh*t aside. Somebody got to go to sleep! So we want to see that.”

Briggs also said that people would have preferred to see him in the ring because he would go for the knockout. He then called out former rival Evander Holyfield and said, “Holyfield, he training all hard and all that, but you can get it champ. All you got to do is say my name, all you got to do is go, ‘champ….’ And I’m coming right at you Holy. Let’s go. Anybody can get it to be quite honest with you.”
