Former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs is the latest to question Anthony Joshua’s diplomatic approach after the fight. Joshua defeated Pulev with a vicious knockout to retain all his belts.

The Englishman perfectly set up a fight against rival Tyson Fury with his emphatic win. However, instead of calling him out in typical boxing fashion, he decided to keep Fury’s name out of his mouth.

In his post-fight interview, he said he would fight anyone who has the belt; however, he did not give a charismatic call-out. Fury himself criticized Joshua for this with a video on Twitter, and Shannon Briggs recently jumped in on the bandwagon.

In an Instagram Livestream, Briggs spoke about Joshua’s performance and his post-fight behavior. He said, “Yeah, I didn’t like that. I didn’t like that response. I didn’t like that running out the ring either.”

Briggs added, “You’re the heavyweight champion of the world Come on, man. This sh*t is real man.” The ‘Cannon’ also spoke about Fury’s reaction and said Joshua should have said something similar.

And then said, “Unfortunately, he’s not supposed to ask you that. What you think? Hell yeah, I want him next. Imma break his jaw, I’m going to do him dirty. You got to talk that off. You got to speak it up.”

The ‘Cannon’ did not leave it at that. He said, “That’s right. You a fighter, you’re the heavyweight champion of the world, man. You got to act like it, you got to show it, you got to let ‘em know I’m the champ.”

Clearly, Briggs wasn’t impressed with the ‘good guy’ attitude that Anthony Joshua went with and felt that boxing needs some more spice to it.

However, we have come to see a more mature Anthony Joshua ever since his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr. and it seems like this version of the Englishman is here to stay.
