The exhibition fights are a recent trend in the sport of boxing and celebrities across various verticals are diving in for this opportunity. That said, on June 12, 2021, Social Gloves came out with a boxing event between YouTubers and TIK Tokers, in which the alleged owner of Social Gloves, Austin McBroom took part.
However, a few days after the event, it was reported that Social Gloves had gone bankrupt. Furthermore, it didn’t pay any of the celebrities for its June 12 event. As this story did rounds on social media, everyone was keen to hear something from Social Gloves’ management side. Now, McBroom came out and commented on the same.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Fix, he said, “You got social gloves which is the promotion company, that put together the event right, that organizes the fights, that puts together the event, LiveXLive is a live stream partner. In order for an event to take place, you need a live stream partner. Everyone thinks Social gloves just did everything, no.”

“So the reason why the fighters haven’t got paid yet is because LiveXLive has been holding onto all the funds, they have not paid social gloves one penny.”
McBroom even revealed that he himself didn’t get paid for the event.
On June 25, Social Gloves even revealed that they’re working tirelessly to sort the situation out to pay every fighter that made the YouTuber vs TIK Toker event a success.
Will Austin McBroom find an alternative to pay the fighters?
McBroom, in his above comments, seemed fierce. He openly spoke about what’s going wrong with Social Gloves and LiveXLive.
