Josh Taylor ranks among the biggest fighting names of recent times. The elite pugilist not only became the undisputed super-lightweight champ but he’s also the first from the UK to have achieved the feat. That said, many expected Taylor to sweep the biggest of accolades in his favor for this astonishing achievement. However, the Scottish boxing star didn’t get a place in one of the biggest sporting awards.

Josh Taylor took only one fight in 2021, and this predominantly ranked as his biggest fight of the career. ‘The Tartan Tornado’ in May battled Jose Ramirez for all the super-lightweight titles on the line. Both the fighters presented an immaculate boxing stint, and it was tough to pick a favorite.

Ramirez began the fight on a high note, pressing all the gears to put Taylor on a back step. On the other hand, the Scottish boxer played smart, and he waited for his adversary to commit that one mistake. Ramirez did the same, and Taylor knocked him down twice in the fight.

‘The Tartan Tornado’ was extremely smart when it came to his choices of punches. On top of all this, Taylor was right at the peak of his defense, because he dodged the heat coming off Ramirez’s hands.
