Ebanie Bridges and Shannon O’Connell squared off inside the squared circle on December 10th. The trash talk leading up to the fight gradually turned into a grudge match. Fans were riveted to their seats as the two fired blows at each other at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

Bridges had admitted that even at her training camp, she primarily used her left hand to train. Despite having issues with her right hand, she rose to the challenge and won over the public’s affection.

The fight was an intense showdown and Bridges threw her opponent across the canvas in the third round. It went on till the eighth round until the referee came in between to stop the fight, and Bridges was announced the winner.

Shannon O’Connell is a more experienced fighter than Bridges. However, the latter proved her mettle as she outclassed her seasoned opponent. Her previous matches have also left her with serious wounds. She was successful in defending her IBF bantamweight world title. But it came at a cost.

While talking about her surgery, Bridges stated, “It’s a pretty intense surgery, they take bone from my hip and fuse my joints together. Bit of a lengthy recovery.. but I am no stranger to injuries. Lol.”   

‘The Blonde Bomber’ is often trolled that she is famous not for her boxing skills, but because of her beauty. But she always strikes back and gives one more reason to prove the world wrong. She has successfully done the surgery, and fans are anticipating seeing her in action soon.
