Tyson Fury is bringing in Wayne Rooney to his training camp. He has invited the English soccer icon to spar with and help produce good results in the upcoming fight against the unified WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk.

The former Manchester United striker was present at the ringside in Fury vs Chisora trilogy. Following Fury’s dominant win, he gave a call for the latter’s knighthood.

Calling him best, Rooney admired Fury’s contribution to the sport. According to him, the absolute legend is unbeatable in the current scenario of boxing.

These heavy remarks made several storylines. So when ‘The Gypsy King’ came across ITV for an interview, he was asked about this.

Making it more interesting, the 34-year-old made a stunning revelation. He claimed that Rooney agreed to help him in training.

“I spoke to Wayne last night and he’s well up for it. But he’s a right-handed person, so he’s got to switch up to be southpaw left-handed. So we’re going to bring Wayne in for preparation for Usyk.”

When asked if this is a joke, Fury smiled and continued, “No very very serious. He’s agreed, so he’s going to come to camp for around four weeks to help me. I’m a big fan of his.”

The retired player was sparring with a fellow premier league player Phil Bardsley. During the casual exchange in a kitchen, Bardsley landed a jab sending unconscious Rooney on the floor.
