Somalian Boxer Ramla Ali Lands a Spot in Time’s Prestigious List

Ramla Ali has been writing history, from representing her homeland Somalia at the Olympics to becoming the first female boxer to compete in Saudi Arabia. She is known for her never quitting attitude inside the ring and her calm and helpful persona outside. She recently won her bout against Australia’s Avril Mathie via unanimous decision. Ali remains undefeated, with a professional record of 8 wins with two knockouts. But Ramla Ali hasn’t restricted herself to the sport of boxing. She is a global ambassador for brands like Christian Dior and Cartier.

Ramla Ali is inducted into Time Magazine’s ‘Women of the year’ list, a momentous feat for anyone to achieve. She has defied all the odds to come to where she is now, and there is only going forward for her now.

Ramla Ali has made history again by having her name echoed in Time’s Magazine women of the year. She certainly deserves this recognition for her impact inside and outside the ring. Ali is as active outside the ring as she is inside. She has been involved with social work for a long time now. She has been running a Nonprofit organization called ‘Sister Club’ since 2018 to give boxing lessons to women who don’t have easy access to the sport. Most women who come to the club to learn are domestic violence survivors and women from different ethnic backgrounds. The club is a source of hope for many women who face hardships.

The 33-year-old boxer is the epitome of hard work and dedication. She has been motivating little girls all over the world. Ali has used her popularity for the greater good of society and to help those in need. She is an inspiring figure in the sport, and the fans admire her for all her work. Notably, the Somalian boxer also rose in defense of Jake Paul once.

Ramla Ali is also the Unicef U.K ambassador. Being a refugee herself, Ali understands the ache of refugees and their difficulties. As the Unicef ambassador, she visited a refugee camp in Jordan and wants the world to understand their pain and show humanity towards them.
