Canelo Alvarez is now more than just a boxer. Recently, he launched his tequila-canned beverage company called VMC. Furthermore, he recently dwelled in making an appearance in a Hollywood feature film. The undisputed super middleweight champion cameoed in the third sequel of the very popular Creed series. Fortunately, his Hollywood debut was a great success financially and it was lauded by the public at large. This is evident from the fact that the film opened up by earning $22 million on the very first day. The film has garnered not just immense revenue but also stellar reviews after it received a 92% review aggregate by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

It can be said that the movie’s success would make Alvarez proud and might encourage him for more such appearances in the future. He recently uploaded a photo on Instagram expressing the pride he has for his hometown.

Canelo Alvarez on what makes him so proud of his hometown

One of the major reasons why Alvarez was cast in the film was because of the role he played, that of a Mexican boxer. To showcase accurate representation he was recruited in the film. In essence, his ethnicity fetched him the role which made the boxer extremely proud of where he hails from.

Canelo posted a picture on Instagram with the caption “#ElOrigenAnteTodo shows the pride I feel for my origin”. (Translated via Instagram translation)
