‘Spinal!’ – Mike Tyson Looks Back at the Funniest Moment in His Career

The former bad boy of the sport, Mike Tyson had countless moments inside the boxing ring. Some of them turned out to be his best, whereas some turned out to be dreadful.
Tyson had many witty moments in and outside the ring. In a recent interview, he shed light on one of his most searched funniest moments.
Tyson chatted with Dan Cannobio of Compubox TV last month, ahead of his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr. The duo shared a laugh when they recalled this moment of Tyson’s broken back.

Tyson voiced, “Well listen right, I have a bad back and since all of the work that I’ve put over the years, the spine in my back just starts shifting. I have to get the operation but the doctor said, ‘Hey eventually you’re gonna have to start bending over,’
This anecdote flashes back to 1992, where Tyson fought Lennox Lewis in a highly anticipated fight. ‘Iron’ lost the fight via a brutal KO. In the post-fight interview with Jim Gray, Tyson had a dejected face and uttered out one of the most famous dialogues of his career, ‘I broke my back, my back is broken. Spinal!’
To date, this dialogue continues, leaving people in splits. Even Tyson couldn’t hold back from cracking up to this witty incident.
“And so I was trying to explain my situation. I just wasn’t eloquent enough to explain it in the way I wanted it to be explained,” he added.

As Tyson kept on beating his opponents and climbed to the top, he experienced a number of controversial moments too. In his rematch with Evander Holyfield in 1997, Tyson bit his ear and got disqualified for the same. That fight is still the biggest fleck on Tyson’s record.
Tyson received a lot of backlash for his misconduct in the ring against Holyfield. This raised some serious questions about his sportsmanship.
