The Five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather, has promoted multiple boxers through his company, ‘Mayweather Promotions’. Recently, Mayweather expressed his desire to sign the current WBO welterweight champion, Terence Crawford.

Floyd Mayweather was in a telephonic conversation with Ben Thompson of FightHype.

In conversation, Thompson asked Mayweather about Crawford, especially mentioning that Crawford is a free agent.

In response, among other things, Mayweather spoke about his desire to sign Crawford. He said, “I would love to sign Terence Crawford. I have talked about getting Terence Crawford the fight that he wants (against Errol Spence).”

Most fans were unsure of Mayweather’s decision to sign Crawford. Moreover, fans took to social media to address their concerns.

A fan @Oggi62404973 felt that it makes no sense for Crawford to sign with Mayweather. The fan also mentioned that Crawford could get the fight on his own being his own boss.

Similarly, user @ReignBlak also felt that Crawford was better off without Mayweather. He also felt that Mayweather should mind his own business.

Another fan @alessan44368016 mentioned that Crawford would not fight Spence if he signs with Mayweather’s productions. He even advised Crawford to stay a free agent.

User @MK45267125 advised Crawford to stay away from Mayweather. he even goes on to call Mayweather a devil.

However, Mayweather was also able to garner some support from his fans.

A fan @Carl58995142 felt that the signing would be a good idea. He even mentioned that it was a win-win situation.

The fan, however, was quick to add that there should be no hate when Crawford tops Mayweather’s record.

There were a few hysterical fan reactions as well.

User @MrSober4 hilariously compared the welterweight division to Mortal Combat.

A fan @Craytos13 felt that the Spence vs Crawford fight will be delayed if the deal with Mayweather is signed.

He specifically emphasized the delay, saying, “Spence & Crawford won’t fight till they’re 60. Waiting for the fight to marinate.”
