Stephen A. Smith Wants Haney to “Stay Away” from Gervonta Davis

Stephen A. Smith talked about the threat that Gervonta Davis poses to Haney’s titles. He provided the reason for assuming why Haney doesn’t stand a chance against the hard-hitter. He said, “I see Gervonta Davis, And I Look at Haney, And I’m like this. You Don’t want no parts of gervonta davis you want to stay away from that brother.”

He further talked about a drawback he finds in Haney’s fighting style which makes him an easier target for Davis. “Haney gets hit too much, and you can’t do that, Gervonta Davis,” He added. Smith remembered a story from Adrien Broner where Broner talks about the time he witnessed Haney and Davis go at it in a sparring session. “ I saw Adrien Broner talking about how he saw Gervonta and Haney spar. And, Gervonta hit him once, and they had to jump into the ring to stop Haney from getting hurt because Gervonta hit him,” said Smith recollecting the story.

Smith further talked about Haney’s clash with Vasiliy Lomachenko. In his opinion, the San Francisco born fighter was able to prevail because his opponent is not a power puncher. He said that if it had been ‘Tank’ instead, it would’ve been a “different problem” for ‘The Dream.’
