Teofimo Lopez has never hesitated to speak his mind, and he has recently been critical of Floyd Mayweather. ‘Take Over’ Lopez is clearly not a fan of Floyd Mayweather’s decision of picking June 6 as his return date.

After almost four years since his last professional bout, Mayweather will come back to action against Logan Paul in an exhibition headliner. This has urged Teofimo Lopez and Triller to postpone their event from June 5 to June 19. However, Triller had their event confirmed first. That said, they weren’t too keen to go up against Floyd Mayweather at the box office.

Hence, Triller delayed their lucrative showdown. Speaking with Fino Boxing, Teofimo Lopez said, “Floyd, I love you champ, and I have so much respect for you and you paved the way along with Mike Tyson and everything. But that was so f***ing flawed what you did and at the end of the day, it’s all about giving that. Stop being selfish, man.”

The 23-year-old continued, “You gotta get back, we all gotta get back, man. At the end of the day, I’ma do it the right way. I’ma do it the right way, I am gonna win all these things, I am gonna put out the tone. I’ma let all these young fighters know, hey, you are gonna make those top dollars. Don’t focus on the money.”

Meanwhile, Mayweather hasn’t bothered to respond. Despite the backlash, his return against Logan Paul will take place amid the live audience at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. But is it seriously competing with a serious boxing event like Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr.?

Will Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr. reach the benchmark

There’s no denying Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul are two of the biggest superstars in the world. So, their in-ring matchup might set a new PPV benchmark, grabbing attention from several countries. However, that doesn’t take anything away from Teofimo Lopez’s upcoming event against George Kambosos Jr.

Lopez has also become a household name, and being the current world champion, he would seemingly pull off a blockbuster showdown. Both the events are unique and have their loyal fan bases. While they are highly contrasting to each other, it is unfair to put them in a similar bracket.
