While Frank Warren has shown no interest in promoting Mike Tyson, Eddie Hearn is willing to give it a thought.

Recently, Mike Tyson broke the internet for displaying his skills and ferocity even at 53 years of age. The former heavyweight champion of the world has stated his intentions to compete in exhibition matches to raise money for charities. Although his coach – Rafael Cordeiro believes that he can take out anyone, promoter Frank Warren wasn’t impressed.

In an interview with the Metro, Warren said:

“I don’t care if Mike Tyson is in the gym for the next ten years, he has no chance against a heavyweight. I have no idea who would license him at the age of 53 if it wasn’t an exhibition match. Can’t see any governing body do that.”

“His coach talking about him fighting any of the heavyweights out there, would I ever put him with someone like Daniel Dubois? Never. It’d be an embarrassment, Warren added.” “I can’t think of a single heavyweight he could fight.”

On the other hand, promoters like David Feldman (President of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) is willing to offer Tyson 20 million dollars to compete at BKFC. Still, there are others like Eddie Hearn who are unsure.

Eddie Hearn sits on the fence with regards to Mike Tyson

In an interview with British Boxing Television, Hearn said that his feelings are “mixed” as far as Tyson’s return is concerned. The promoter also revealed that Tyson’s team has reached out to him.

“I would probably like to see it. But, I kind of feel like, and people may see I did the Youtube stars but is it a bit irresponsible to let a 53-year-old legend get back in the ring?”

Although Hearn expressed his concerns, he was fascinated after watching Tyson’s training footage.

“Could he actually go in at 53 and do some damage in the division? Maybe, maybe not. But should we be encouraging that from somebody who is an all-time great? He looks great. Who knows? I don’t know. There’s kind of a fine line and I’ve crossed it a couple of times – the integrity of the sport and delivering numbers.”

“Our job is to deliver numbers for our broadcasters, but we’ve got to try and keep it close to the right mark as possible. I don’t know. Stranger things have happened.”

Tyson thinks that he can pull it off. He said that he feels unstoppable like before. However, the primary objective of Tyson hasn’t changed. ‘Iron Mike’ wants to help people with the money that he will earn.
