The lightweight division consists of top-tier undefeated boxers in form of Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, and Gervonta Davis. Each one of them has exhibited unparalleled dominance that has taken them to the summit.
Teofimo Lopez is the unified lightweight king, holding WBA, IBF, and WBO belts. Moreover, he’s also the WBC franchise champion. Whereas his rival Devin Haney is the WBC champion. ‘The Dream’ is already in talks to fight the newly crowned WBC interim champion, Ryan Garcia, by mid-2021.
Apart from these big names, there’s yet another scary lightweight, Gervonta Davis, who is the regular WBA champion. Something that’s even more enticing is all four of them share a significant beef with each other, seeming hungry to box each other.
This is principally why the whole lightweight landscape entices Sugar Ray Leonard. Many fans would share this sentiment with the boxing icon.
