Sylvester Stallone Joins Dwayne Johnson in Mourning Saddening Loss of Media Icon 3 Hours After New Year Celebration Post

Broadcast journalist and television personality, Barbara Walters, is often considered a trailblazer in the world of broadcast media. And she was notably the host of a myriad of programs like Today, 20/20, the ABC Evening News, etc. It was recently reported that Walters passed away at her residence in Manhattan, on December 30, 2022. She was 93 at the time of her demise. Meanwhile, reel-life boxer and Hollywood actor, Sylvester Stallone, joined a host of celebrities in paying tribute to the late media icon.

Walters’ publicist, Cindi Berger, released a statement addressing her demise. Berger said, “Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists. But for all women.”

Notably, she made history in 1974, by becoming the first female co-host of a US news program. Walters had traversed the then male-dominated industry to earn herself a spot on NBC’s Today Show. Moreover, she joined ABC in 1976 to become the first female US Network News Anchor.

Sylvester Stallone pays tribute to Barbara Walters after New Year

Stallone, who played Rocky Balboa in the ‘Rocky’ series, took to Instagram to offer condolences on her demise. He posted a picture of Walters and himself from the 1980s.

And, in the captions, he mentioned that she was a groundbreaker in the world of broadcast media. He also stated that Walters could never be replaced.

While Walters passed away on December 30, 2022, Stallone offered his tributes to the late broadcast legend after New Year. Moreover, he even posted a New Year celebratory photograph with his family, 3 hours prior to it.

It is worth noting that Walters had previously interviewed Stallone in 1979 and 1988.

Celebrities and fans share their thoughts

A few notable names and fans also joined Stallone in solidarity while offering tributes to Walters. In fact, they took to the comments to share their thoughts.

WWE superstar turned Hollywood actor, Dwayne Johnson nodded in agreement while giving emphasis to Stallone’s interview with Walters. He said, “Amen. I actually watched your interview with her earlier this year.”

In the same vein, comedian, Andrew Dice Clay, said, “Totally Agree.”

A few fans also pitched in. Laura Ann mentioned, “I remember watching that interview!! I thought she was so lucky to be on that motorcycle with you lol. May she rest in peace. I liked her so much!”

Similarly. Kvotti Roth said, “That was a very in-depth interview she had with you. Only she could do and ask what others can’t.”

And Noemi Zoala added, “God Bless Barbara’s Soul. A Beautiful inspiration and force.”

Meanwhile, a user named Reya Prysock was unaware of Walters’ passing. She exclaimed, “Dang Barbra Walter’s passed? That’s an end to a Era! Now I feel old.”

Additionally, Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, and Hollywood actor, Frank Grillo, also paid tribute to Walters in the comments.
