‘Sly’ even owns a pair of turtles in the movie named Cuff and Link, who was introduced to woo his romantic partner in the film Adrain. He even owned a pet dog named Butkus who featured in two Rocky films. However, Cuff and Link are the only two pets that have stood the test of time and are alive even today.

Sylvester Stallone reveals the pet turtles from Rocky were still alive

In an Instagram post back in 2018, Stallone revealed that the Cuff and Link were very much alive and breathing. He posted a selfie with the turtles swimming in the tank and claimed that they would make an appearance in Creed 2. He also added that the turtles were now 44 years old but still with him. ” CREED 2 with my original buddies from the first Rocky … CUFF and LINK, now about 44 years old!” he wrote

It is unclear whether the turtles are still alive or not. However, given the long lifespan of these creatures, they won’t pass away anytime soon unless any accident occurs.

In addition, they have now become the only solace for Stallone after his departure from the franchise.

Why did Stallone sell his pet dog?

In another Instagram post back in 2017, Stallone detailed that Butkus was his only friend at the time. He added that he was very broke. And need money and was forced to sell his pet dog for $40 to buy food.

However, when the script of ‘Rocky’ was finally sold, he bought back his dog for $15000, which was worth every penny for Stallone. Butkus would then pass away shortly in 1981 after suffering from a heart attack ending his journey with Stallone.
