Top Rank Promotions might lose their star prodigy, Teofimo Lopez, as the unified lightweight champion has bagged a massive purse bid of $6.2 million from Triller for his upcoming fight against George Kambosos.
No, ‘Mr. Takeover’ isn’t leaving Top Tank right away but the recent move has clearly brought some differences between him and the promotion.
Top Rank has lost the bid on a huge margin and couldn’t even stand opposite Matchroom’s bid for the fight. While they had put only $2.5 million at stake, Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom put $3.5 million. However, Triller bagged the rights by bringing in the massive $6.2 million offer.

Meanwhile, Boxing News 24 claims that Lopez and Top Rank’s ongoing contract with Lopez will expire after 3.5 years. So, there’s still a lot of time left, and Lopez may have to set foot in the ring for Top Rank multiple times. But there’s an escapee from the notion, too.

How can Teofimo Lopez increase his rate by staying under Top Rank?
If Top Rank fails to offer him the right price, purse bids can be armor for the unified lightweight champion. Akin to the recent situation, if a bidder brings in more numbers than Top Rank for Lopez, the 23-year-old champion can continue to relish with no promotional turmoils.
